Top 10 Quirky things I've learned during a short season of dating. Not many regrets but great lessons.

Remember, optimism is my middle name ;)

Funny yet serious=fuserious

(1.) Dating is more of a process of elimination than a selection (of both traits and people). "Did she just do that?...NEXT! Ironically the "NEXT" is an emotional disconnect but selfish motives keeps the person 'around' in the event they can meet a need.

(2.) More of a journey than a destination. A journey leading to friendship.lol. In which most times is forced because you need to justify all this wasted time.

(3.) While he dates 5 other women, she takes a compliment and feels like she's cheating. Her hope is that her loyalty will win her the man when in reality he already knows who he wants and her pride won't accept that it's not her. Womp Womp.

(4.) Lots of lying by omission. ;/. Don't ask, Don't tell. Do ask, still don't tell.

(5.) You like them because they like you as it feeds your ego. "He's cool I guess " Umm,alright. Yeah...ok.

(6.) You just don't want to be alone but not interested in really being in a relationship. "I'm just tryna kick it" Huh? What?

(7.) The person just makes you feel better about your already miserable life. If you were in a good place you wouldn't entertain them. Uh oh!

(8.) Too many akward 'where do we stand again' moments.

(9.)You learn way more about yourself than you do the person you're dating and usually the conclusion is you are probably in no place to be dating. Bwaha!

(10.) If you 'date' for a lengthy time with no intention someone always ends up hurt ;(

Words to the independent woman---Its old news not to need anyone for anything, but your ability to provide for yourself beyond the artificial house, car, clothes, jewels, and changing your own oil is where your true independence lies. Fact: We all need somebody sometimes. Can you handle being alone with your thoughts, emotions, fears, and triumphs? Can you laugh at your own jokes? Can you dance when no ones watching? Do you need to be spiritually babysat or continuously cradled emotionally? Are you secure enough in being unaccompanied and whole enough to encourage yourself? An independent woman goes beyond spoiling oneself and lavishing herself to fill a void of wanting to be loved and the bitterness of being mistreated and misunderstood.  Stand up from the inside, wrap yourself in pride, clothe yourself in humility, let integrity be your guide…come on lets shine! Independent is a state of maturity/development, it has nothing to do with being mateless/single and well-off. Dont be an independent liability. Love ya my sistah :).

 

 

Words to the woman wondering if hes the one---My queen~ when he knows, he knows. There is nothing you can do to make him love you and nothing you can do to make him not. When a man knows, he just knows and counts up the costs long before you begin turning tricks hoping to be the chosen one. Be the best you you can be for yourself, your creator and your purpose and the right man will step up to the plate with no questions asked.

 

Words to the single mother---There is no love like your love! No words can express the mantle in which you carry. My prayer is that all that you pour out may it be returned to you in great measure! May you enter many seasons of replenishing, restitution, regain, and reproof!

 

Words to the woman of many hats---Word to the woman of many hats: So many times you find yourself going to and fro living off of the intensity of business as usual. Be careful for this strong concentration can become a common place. Know that purpose doesn't require chaos. You can be purposeful and peaceful. Don't let the enemy torment you! Don't create ruckus trying to mirror the worlds pain. If youre at peace, you are purposefully living. Don't trip!

 How did I end up here? Because in an attempt to feed the starving young girl inside of you, the woman you are was compromised. I say to you...no shame, no regrets! Love yourself. Forgive yourself. Be kind... and show empathy to yourself. This taught you a lesson of self worth and self preservation that could not be learned any other way. This is not the end...for in the end you win!!! #evenebony
